KUCHING: DBKU yesterday failed to capitalise on a first-half sending-off that reduced defending champions Finexsys to 10 men in their Kuching Football League semi-final clash at State Stadium here.

They lost 0-1 to the 2008 Borneo Cup winners who sneaked into the final through an early strike from captain Zambery Zainal just two minutes into play.

The former state player headed home from a free kick.

Finexsys’ Yusman Muhamad was given the marching orders by referee Abdullah Abu Bakar for committing his second foul by felling DBKU’s Ideris Untong near the penalty box in the 31st minute.

Five other Finexsys players picked up yellow cards against DBKU’s two.

Although the Kuching City North Commission boys had a fair share of chances, they were let down by poor finishing.

Unbeaten Finexsys will meet the winners of the other semi-final between Brooke Dockyard and Yayasan Sarawak today, also at State Stadium.
