PBB Piasau youth win Youth Chief football

MIRI: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) Piasau branch youth team have won the PBB Youth Chief Sarawak Closed football competition held at Miri Stadium on Sunday.

They beat six other PBB youth teams in Zone 8 to walk away with the challenge trophy.

Science, Technology and Innovation Deputy Minister Fadillah Yusof, who is also the PBB youth chief, presented the prizes.

The PBB youth exco committee members team headed by Fadillah, Ripin Lamat, a political secretary to the Chief Minister, and PBB Zone 8 youth chairman Dennis Ngau came in second.

In third place was the PBB Telang Usan youth team while the PBB Senadin youth team came in fourth.

Fadillah said the competition aimed to gather youth together, particularly during school holidays.

It also hoped to bring more youths to take part in the movement and at the same time scout for talented football players.

During the two-day competition, 100 youths registered with PBB and Fadillah commended PBB Zone 8 youth for a good job.

Dennis meanwhile said the competition was part of the youth wing’s efforts to attract more members and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
